About the position

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on employment-related matters, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to develop, review, and implement employment policies and procedures.
  • Manage and oversee employment-related litigation, including claims of discrimination and wrongful termination.
  • Proactively identify potential legal risks related to employment practices and recommend effective strategies for mitigation.
  • Conduct thorough internal investigations into employee complaints and workplace issues, documenting findings and providing recommendations.
  • Stay informed about developments in employment law and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 or more years of experience in employment law, including discrimination, harassment, and employee relations.
  • 3-5 years of experience conducting internal investigations related to employee complaints.
  • 3-5 years of experience collaborating with HR teams to address employee relations issues.
  • 3-5 years of experience building and leading high-performing teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing employment-related litigation and collaborating with outside counsel.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research and applying knowledge of employment law to support organizational policies.
  • Strong background in utilizing legal technologies, including AI and software solutions.
