We are in search of an experienced News Video Editor to select and assemble impactful news content for our Mornings on 2 newscasts. This position may also play a critical role in shaping digital content for our online platforms, streaming media and social media. Join a winning team with a culture that is committed to supporting, mentoring, and training our staff.<br><br><strong>What You’ll Do:<br><br></strong>Editors at KTVU work closely with newscast producers and news managers to select and assemble video, images and graphics and other media for effective storytelling. Candidates must have demonstrated editing skills, be able to multi-task and work well under pressure. Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.<br><br><ul><li>Select and edit news video content, from a variety of sources, for news and feature stories such as VOs, VO-SOTS and packages. </li><li>Collaborate with producers and other team members to contribute video content to various live and taped shows and segments. </li><li>Ensure video content is compelling, accurate, and aligns with the overall editorial vision. </li><li>Anticipate problems, correct errors and develop workflows and systems so errors do not recur. </li><li>Work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Requirements:<br><br></strong><ul><li>High school diploma; college degree is preferred</li><li>Ability to work in-person at our Jack London Square Studios based in Oakland, CA</li><li>Strong understanding of journalism ethics and standards</li><li>Proficiency in Edius editing or similar software</li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills<br><br></li></ul><em>We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
