Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Cinematographer to join our dynamic production team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong artistic vision, technical expertise in camera operation, lighting, and composition, and a proven track record of bringing stories to life through compelling visuals. You will be responsible for the visual style and image of productions, collaborating closely with directors, producers, and other crew members to achieve creative objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with directors and producers to develop the visual style and mood of productions.
  • Operate various professional cameras (e.g., Arri, RED, Sony, Blackmagic) and associated equipment.
  • Design and execute lighting setups to achieve desired aesthetic and narrative goals.
  • Oversee camera department crew, including gaffers, grips, and camera assistants.
  • Ensure technical quality and consistency of visual content throughout production.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot camera, lighting, and grip equipment.
  • Work within production budgets and schedules while maintaining high creative standards.
  • Participate in pre-production planning, including location scouting and shot listing.
  • Provide creative input and problem-solving solutions during all phases of production.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cinematographer or Director of Photography in film, television, or high-end commercial production.
  • Expert knowledge of camera systems, lenses, and accessories.
  • Proficiency in lighting techniques, equipment, and safety.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and color theory.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various grip and electric equipment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating exceptional cinematography work.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, Media Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience with various camera stabilizers (e.g., gimbals, steadicams, dollies).
  • Familiarity with post-production workflows and color grading.
  • Experience in both studio and on-location shooting environments.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and emerging technologies in cinematography.
