THE JOB:

The Director of Finance Shared Services ensures that departmental and functional procedures, internal controls, and reporting conform to company procedures, corporate policies, and state and federal regulations and statutes while directing specific areas within the overall department operation.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Maintains deep expertise in Finance principles, systems, and industry best practices, using this knowledge to make sound decisions and provide strategic recommendations. Serves as a Finance thought leader and trusted technical resource across departments and the enterprise, contributing to the strategic direction of MGM Resorts International and the Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC).

  • Partners with business leadership to align Finance initiatives with organizational objectives, ensuring processes, tools, and strategies effectively support current and future operating needs. Recommends and leads implementation of new business strategies and volume growth integrations, ensuring seamless alignment with existing processes and controls.

  • Oversees service levels, performance metrics, and KPIs to drive operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement. Analyzes key data and trends to identify opportunities, influence decisions, and enhance results. Communicates complex financial concepts clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Builds, develops, and leads a high-performing team by fostering engagement, accountability, empowerment, and professional growth. Demonstrates strong leadership judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage shifting priorities while maintaining focus on broader business outcomes and long-term strategic goals.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, with at least 4+ years of relevant experience in hospitality, gaming, or resort operations.

  • They have previously worked within a Shared Services environment and bring strong management experience, including leading remote or geographically dispersed teams.

  • This individual has a solid understanding of capital and fixed asset processes, including tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.

  • They demonstrate strong organizational skills, financial acumen, and the ability to streamline workflows across multiple stakeholders. The candidate is a collaborative leader who fosters accountability, drives continuous improvement, and excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
