Job Title: AccountantJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to ensure the accuracy and compliance of the general ledger and reported financial information with GAAP. The role involves designing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls related to GL accounts and reconciliation, while adhering to policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. Responsibilities • Ensure the general ledger and reported financial information are correct, timely, and complete. • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and test internal controls related to GL accounts. • Comply with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. • Manage specific GL accounts, including monthly entries, monitoring, and reconciliations. • Monitor and investigate trends in the GL and financial statements. • Oversee the department’s compliance with internal controls and GL account reconciliations. • Handle portfolio accounting entries and reconciliations for Investment Accounting. • Prepare various financial statement documents and supporting data for Financial Reporting. • Identify and explain trends or variances to budget in GL accounts. • Prepare data needed for various regulatory reports, including FDIC Call Report and SEC reports. Essential Skills • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliation. • Proficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and data entry. • Experience in accounts payable. • Background in financial reporting and knowledge of FDIC and SEC regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Exposure to procure to pay processes is a bonus. • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel. • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to accounting in a financial institution. Work Environment This is a full-time remote position, operating Monday through Friday, with flexibility for candidates based in WA, OR, ID, or CA. The role requires someone comfortable working remotely and utilizing Teams for most communication. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
