We're seeking an MTS 1, Software Engineer with strong backend experience who wants to work on systems that directly power real commerce. This role offers meaningful ownership and the opportunity to contribute to core services that handle active transaction flow. You'll collaborate closely with product and engineering partners to deliver scalable, well-built solutions that strengthen and advance a platform relied on every day. ## What You'll Do You'll define technical requirements in partnership with product, business, and engineering stakeholders. Design, develop, and maintain scalable web and mobile applications that power our marketplace. Build and maintain server-side processing and parsing scripts, and design, implement, and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party platforms. Leading and assisting other developers in implementing high-quality solutions will be part of your day-to-day. You'll follow established frontend and API design and coding standards, participate in code reviews as both a contributor and reviewer, and collaborate closely with development, QA, and internal business teams. Create and maintain system and technical documentation as needed. You'll perform application maintenance, bug fixes, and performance optimizations. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues using logging and observability tools. Follow the software development lifecycle as defined by engineering and project leadership, and leverage AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed. ## What You'll Bring You have a BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. You bring 5+ years of experience working in an Apache, PHP, HTML, CSS, Java. Script, MSSQL, and My. SQL environment. Strong hands-on experience with PHP MVC frameworks is essential, along with deep knowledge of SQL, with MSSQL experience required. You understand web services, APIs, and SOA architectures. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows is important. You're aware of web application security best practices and have solid experience with object-oriented design and development principles. You have experience developing modern front-end user interfaces using Java. Script frameworks such as Vue, React, and j. Query. Strong familiarity with Git and modern version control workflows is expected. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. You work effectively in cross-functional, fast-paced environments. ## Preferred Qualifications Experience developing and supporting high-traffic, consumer-facing applications is a plus. Familiarity with performance optimization, security best practices, and scalable system design strengthens your candidacy. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer of employment is extended.
