YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth Employment Application The Playhouse Attendant is responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children in the YMCA playhouse area. The attendant ensures the well-being of the children, leads activities, and maintains a clean and organized space. This role requires a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.

Responsibilities

Supervise children in the playhouse area at all times.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following YMCA policies and procedures.

Conduct regular headcounts and monitor children’s activities to prevent accidents and injuries.

Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or incidents.

Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and educational programs.

Encourage positive social interactions among children.

Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual children and the group.

Greet parents and children warmly upon arrival and departure.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s experience and any issues or concerns.

Provide feedback to the Youth Programs Coordinator/Director on program success and areas for improvement.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized playhouse area.

Sanitize toys, equipment, and surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs.

Ensure that supplies are stocked and report any needs to the Youth Programs Coordinator/Director.

Additional Duties

Maintain accurate attendance records.

Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the Youth Programs Coordinator/Director immediately.

Qualifications

Minimum age requirement 16yrs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a team and independently.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, camp, or similar setting.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
