YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth Employment Application The Fitness Floor Attendant is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and guests using the fitness facilities. The attendant provides excellent customer service, assists members with equipment use, maintains the cleanliness of the fitness area, and supports the overall fitness experience at the YMCA.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and engage with members and guests in a friendly and approachable manner.

Provide assistance and instruction on the proper use of fitness equipment.

Offer guidance on exercise techniques and general fitness advice within scope of knowledge and training.

Address member inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly.

Safety and Cleanliness

Monitor the fitness floor to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Enforce fitness center rules and policies to maintain a safe workout environment.

Clean and sanitize fitness equipment, mats, and surfaces regularly.

Ensure that fitness equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance needs to the Fitness Director/Coordinator.

Administrative Duties

Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and any incidents or accidents.

Assist with the setup and breakdown of fitness-related programs and events.

Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned, ensuring the fitness area is ready for use.

Program Support

Assist in promoting fitness programs, classes, and special events to members.

Support fitness instructors and personal trainers as needed.

Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Professional Development

Stay current with YMCA fitness standards and best practices.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise principles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Customer service experience preferred.

Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing cleaning duties.
