Full Job Description:

Seeking a part-time, temporary, remote contractor to support the administrative operations of mentorship and broader engagement initiatives for chemical scientists. This individual will play a key role in coordinating communications, tracking participant engagement, maintaining program documentation, and supporting virtual events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

This is a Part-Time (up to 20 hours/week), Temporary (1-year), Contractual, Remote Position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate communications between mentors, mentees, and program staff
  • Maintain and update participant records and program documentation
  • Support scheduling and logistics for virtual mentoring sessions and events
  • Assist with onboarding of new mentors and mentees
  • Track engagement metrics and prepare summary reports
  • Respond to participant inquiries and provide timely support
  • Collaborate with program staff to improve administrative workflows
  • Document processes and contribute to program improvement efforts

Position Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in program coordination, administrative support, or related roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
  • Familiarity with mentorship software platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data tracking and reporting tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently
  • Prior experience in academic, scientific, or nonprofit environments is a plus
