Job Overview

As a Retail Operations Supervisor (Process Lead), you will help drive operational performance in alignment with company objectives. The role covers activities in merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, store opening and closing, leading staff, and ensuring a secure and efficient floor environment.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Team Support:

- Help and mentor staff on handling merchandise and maintaining product presentation standards
- Provide a supportive experience for employees through onboarding, training, coaching, evaluations, and progressive discipline if needed
- Assign and manage completion of daily responsibilities
- Direct and support associates, particularly as manager on duty
- Address feedback and staff concerns
- Recognize accomplishments and foster team morale

Store Operations and Customer Experience:

- Execute effective merchandising practices to increase sales with streamlined receiving and product display
- Oversee and improve inventory management by periodic audits and analysis of sales trends
- Ensure accurate inventory records and correct any discrepancies
- Process transactions using the point-of-sale system and adhere to company guidelines
- Maintain store compliance with company policies and ethical standards
- Participate in opening and closing routines while upholding brand standards
- Complete monthly inventory counts and resolve any shortages or overages
- Maintain animal welfare by proper cleaning, feeding, health checks, and veterinary visits as needed
- Elevate customer satisfaction by assisting with online order processes, pickup, or shipping
- Uphold high standards of care and safety for pets and customers during interactions

Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience supervising within a retail or customer service setting
- Full-time role with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Computer literacy required
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to handle stressful scenarios with composure
- Excellent organizational abilities and strong attention to store details

Supervisory Role
- While not a direct people manager, responsible for mentoring peers and helping them develop professionally
- Share performance feedback with leadership
- Take the lead on the floor and delegate tasks in the absence of senior management

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Capable of standing, walking, climbing, handling products, and performing tasks that require depth perception
- Must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist in lifting items over 100 pounds as a team
- Possible exposure to mechanical equipment, wet floors, loose pet hair, and varying levels of noise
- Comfortable interacting with live animals
