We are actively seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant with experience and knowledge of policies and procedures to join our dynamic team in providing the highest level of service to our clients. As a member of the interdisciplinary team this position is responsible for working all shifts as assigned by the site Senior Technologist. Specifically, this position collects specimens, performs sample handling and manipulation and reports results within the scope of practice of a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA). Reporting directly to the on-site Senior Technologists and the Regional Supervisor, the MLA will be responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying the regional policies and procedures. The scope of practice is a continuum ranging from basic to highly complex procedures and activities within the laboratory department. In accordance with Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and other privacy legislation in effect the incumbent shall comply at all times with APL / AHS's Information Privacy and Information Security policies.Description: As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
