About the Team and Opportunity
The Engineering Team designs, builds, and maintains the systems that power Tandems’ AI-enabled platform, which reimagines how financial advice is delivered, how institutions operate, and how advisors help clients succeed. We build:

  • Client-facing applications that enable seamless onboarding, personalized advice, and digital collaboration.
  • Algorithms and investment systems that support smarter portfolio management and better financial outcomes.
  • AI-powered tools that give advisors intelligent insights, streamline workflows, and enhance client engagement across our products: TandemsInvest, TandemsMeet, and TandemsGrow.

As a Software Engineer (Fullstack) at Tandems, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and shipping high-impact features across our product suite — from frontend user experiences to backend services. You’ll use modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools to build faster, smarter, and with higher quality.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Build, test, and deploy new product features end-to-end — from intuitive UI components to performant APIs.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development, improve quality, and explore new ideas.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA to ship secure, compliant, and delightful user experiences.
  • Use sound engineering judgment to prioritize impact, balancing speed with quality and maintainability.
  • Identify and drive improvements in performance, reliability, and scalability across the stack.
  • Contribute to our shared culture of ownership — taking responsibility for solving problems, not just writing code.
  • Help build AI-enabled features within our products by integrating large language models (LLMs) to make user experiences smarter and more personalized.

Ideal Person for this Role

  • Core Engineering Skills:
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience with production systems
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of: Python, Java/Scala (Spring), PHP (Laravel), or JavaScript/TypeScript (React)
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Understanding of cloud environments (AWS preferred) and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
  • Comfort with using AI-powered developer tools to improve speed, quality, and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional, agile environment.

  • Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
    :
  • Experience with AI application frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK)).
  • Exposure to prompt engineering or integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock).
  • Familiarity with vector databases or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts.
  • Interest in building AI-enabled features that enhance productivity or client experiences.
