Join us!<br><br><strong>About Financial Reporting At Cn<br><br></strong>The CN Financial Reporting function is responsible for reporting CN’s financial information to internal and external stakeholders. The CN Financial Reporting team, led by the Vice President & Corporate Comptroller, is comprised of professionals specialized in external reporting, regulatory reporting, property accounting and complex accounting.<br><br><strong> WHY YOU WANT THIS JOB <br><br></strong>The External Reporting team is responsible for the review, filing and publication of financial information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. The Senior Accountant is responsible for reconciling specified accounts in accordance with US GAAP, the preparation and filing of financial reports in accordance with Canadian and US securities regulations, and supporting key departmental initiatives and projects.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li> Preparation and filing of Quarterly Reviews and Annual Report (including Consolidated Financial Statements, Notes thereto, and Management’s Discussion and Analysis) with regulatory bodies;</li><li> Preparation of monthly internal Consolidated Financial Statements;</li><li> Reconciliation and analysis of various accounts in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP);</li><li> Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and sound internal control practices;</li><li> Respond to queries from internal and external auditors;</li><li> Review of internal financial reports submitted to various internal stakeholders;</li><li> Review of external publications for accuracy, completeness and consistency;</li><li> Research of US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.</li><li> Assisting other accounting function with cross-functional work (special accounting issues, various projects, etc.)<br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), with 2 or more years of experience with a CPA firm or with relevant industry experience;</li><li> Strong technical accounting, time management, and analytical skills;</li><li> Attention to detail, thorough and conscientious;</li><li> Results oriented, fast tracker, autonomous;</li><li> Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate clearly;</li><li> Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with accounting policy research is an asset;</li><li> Advanced Microsoft Excel techniques;</li><li> Experience applying rules and regulations of CDN and US Securities Commissions is an asset;</li><li> Ability to handle stressful situations;</li><li> English and French (written and spoken).</li><li>This position is posted as a grade 9 <br><br></li></ul><strong>About CN<br><br></strong>CN is a premium railroad that sustainably generates value for our customers, shareholders, employees, and stakeholders with an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
