We aim to create a welcoming and engaging environment where language learners can thrive and feel at home in Canada's vibrant, French-speaking society.<br> </p><p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p><p>We are seeking a volunteer to support <strong>social media, marketing, and community outreach</strong>. This role is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit communications, community building, language learning, or grassroots marketing.</p><p>The volunteer will help strengthen our online presence, increase event visibility, and support outreach efforts to grow and diversify our community.</p><p>This is a <strong>volunteer position to start</strong>, with potential to evolve into a more structured role as the organization grows.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Social Media</strong></p><ul><li>Create and schedule posts for Instagram (primary platform) and potentially other channels</li><li>Support content creation using photos/videos from events</li><li>Help maintain a consistent tone and visual identity</li><li>Draft captions in English and/or French (depending on comfort level)</li></ul><p><strong>Marketing & Content</strong></p><ul><li>Propose simple content ideas for events, testimonials, and community stories</li><li>Repurpose existing event footage into short-form content (Reels, stories)</li><li>Support basic design work (Canva or similar tools)</li></ul><p><strong>Outreach & Growth</strong></p><ul><li>Identify potential partner organizations (schools, newcomer services, cultural groups)</li><li>Support outreach emails or messages to community partners</li><li>Help increase awareness of weekly events and initiatives</li><li><p>Contribute ideas for improving member engagement and retention.</p><p><strong>Ideal Profile</strong></p></li></ul><p>We are looking for someone who:</p><ul><li>Is interested in community building, education, or language learning</li><li>Has familiarity with social media platforms (especially Instagram)</li><li>Has basic experience with content creation or marketing (formal or informal)</li><li>Is comfortable working independently in a flexible volunteer environment</li><li>Is aligned with values of inclusion, accessibility, and cultural exchange</li></ul><p><strong>We are particularly interested in individuals who have learned French as adults, or who are interested in leveraging their own language learning journey to inform content, outreach, and storytelling.</strong></p><p><strong>Assets:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Canva, CapCut, or similar tools</li><li>Interest in nonprofits, immigration, or education spaces</li></ul><p><strong>Time Commitment</strong></p><p>Flexible, but ideally:</p><ul><li>On average, 5 hours per week</li><li>Remote work, with some required attendance at events for content capture</li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a growing not-for-profit organization.
