Job description: Job Position: Scorer / Marking Coordinator

Location: Chicago, IL 60601

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr

Expected Start Date: October 31, 2023 (contract for 2-weeks w/ potential to extend).

This Position is 100% remote and a BYOD (Bring your own device model).

Description: We are looking for Full Time (40 hours a week) Temporary Professional Scorers to evaluate student responses to subject-related open-ended questions according to a customer supplied scoring guide. Candidates must qualify after completion of training to begin scoring.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate student responses to open-ended questions in a reliable manner and score according to customer supplied scoring guide.

Successfully internalize training and customer scoring guide.

Must pass qualifying test before scoring.

Able to put aside personal biases and apply scoring guide according to customer requirements.

Score performance items including writing, reading, and mathematics' student assessments.

Demonstrate accurate scoring by applying the scoring criteria and standards define by scoring manual

Able to meet rate and quality management standards established for the project.

Score standardized math and reading tests for various states

Follow standard scoring procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy

Perform data entry accurately

Perform other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:

Minimum of bachelor's degree from an accredited college

Must have at least 15 math credit hours completed

All scoring and other work activities must be completed in the United States

Comfortable scoring responses in math subjects

All training and scoring activities will be done from home. Scorers must be able to maintain a confidential remote working environment.

Ability to comply with current and updated policies and procedures; Ability to interact courteously and effectively with a diverse population

Work Environment Requirements:

Must be able to to lift at least 30lbs

Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods (75% of the time)

Must confirm work environment is safe and secure for work in handling private and sensitive information.

Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment

Constantly works indoors in a secluded safe space

Must have High-speed internet access 25 MBPS minimum; 50 MBPS minimum preferred

Must have Compatible computer/laptop

Must have Headset/Headphones with a microphone attached

Technical Requirements

Windows users must be running Windows 8 or 10; Mac users must be running OS X 10.11 or newer.

Scoring will only be supported on the following web browser: Google Chrome.

An optimal screen resolution of at least 1024x768 is recommended.

A stable internet connection above 5 Mbps. Mobile devices, hotspots, and tablets are not supported.

Microphone and speakers or a headset with a microphone will be required for training and scoring activities.

A webcam for video conferencing.

Access to a second monitor is recommended, but not required.
