Landing Gear Systems Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a Landing Gear Systems Engineer to join our Team, in Filton.

The Role :

With Airbus and Airbus PROTECT, support the development activities associated with the ATA32 (Landing Gear) systems, subsystems and equipment, including coordination with suppliers and flight tests.

  • Participate in the design and modifications of the Braking and Steering System.

  • Work with other ATA32 Engineers and signatories along with interfaces such as Systems and Structures interfaces, Certification specialists, Safety Chief Engineers, Procurement and Vendors.

  • Support Airbus Commercial ATA32 System activities, including introducing new functionality to systems, ensuring robust cascade of requirements to the system, and lead development of the system to meet the requirements.

  • Support phase reviews and Validation and Verification activities. This is whilst ensuring activity meets Safety and technical needs, following the appropriate processes and procedures, demonstrating strong requirement adherence and V&V.

Experience required:

  • University degree in Engineering

  • Proven experience in Aeronautical engineering

  • Experience of Systems processes, regulations and guidelines (CS/AC 25, ARP 4754A)

  • Good knowledge of Aircraft Systems

  • Experience of requirement management, including use of DOORS

  • Experience in the Landing Gear perimeter would be beneficial

  • Track record of leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and staff members, with delivery to Time, Cost and Quality

  • This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success

  • Strong ability lead and manage a project team (i.e Work Package management);

  • Team player, keen to share their knowledge and work collaboratively within a fairly small team;

  • Customer centric and able to build relationships in a matrix environment;

  • You have very good communication and negotiation skills;

  • You are autonomous, curious, proactive, rigorous, with great attention to detail;

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
