Job Title: Remote Ambulance Biller and CoderJob Type: Full-time/Part-time, RemoteJob Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Ambulance Biller and Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in medical billing and coding, specifically for ambulance and emergency medical services (EMS). This role involves reviewing patient records, assigning appropriate medical codes, submitting claims to insurance providers, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.Key Responsibilities:Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to ambulance and EMS services.Prepare and submit insurance claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies.Verify patient insurance information and eligibility.Review documentation for completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements.Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, making necessary corrections and resubmissions.Handle patient billing inquiries and resolve disputes professionally.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations, insurance policies, and coding changes.Ensure all billing activities comply with HIPAA and other healthcare privacy laws.Collaborate with EMS providers, healthcare facilities, and insurance representatives to optimize reimbursement.Qualifications & Requirements:Certified Medical Coder (AAPC, CPC, CCA, CCS, or equivalent) preferred.Minimum 2 years of experience in ambulance/EMS billing and coding.Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing guidelines.Medical terminology knowledge and understanding.Proficiency with billing software (TraumaSoft preferred).Excellent understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Preferred Skills:Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and clearinghouses.Familiarity with ambulance-specific modifiers and documentation requirements.Background in revenue cycle management (RCM) for emergency medical services.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Flexible remote work schedule.Health, dental, and vision insurance (if applicable).Paid time off and holidays.Career development and continuing education opportunities.Link Recruiting, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
