A day in the life… The ideal Flex product associate copywriter is creative, has strong writing skills and is committed to providing outstanding value for Nordstrom.com customers. You’ll work as an individual contributor to write compelling copy for new products across a wide range of categories, collaborate with business partners and deepen your fashion authority to enhance product descriptions and customer experience. • Write compelling copy for new products, approximately 52 items daily, utilizing the Nordstrom brand and voice style guide • Grow product page content areas to meet evolving needs of customers and merchants to maximize sales and enhance customer experience • Develop an ever-evolving understanding of apparel fabrication, content, fit and other technical product details • Stay up-to-date on current fashion trends and terminology • Attend meetings as a subject matter expert for Copy • Strong research abilities, ability to independently review, understand and apply complex style guidelines that evolve and change • Attention to detail, ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when measured for grammar/typo quality • Ability to translate vendor-provided selling benefits through the Nordstrom voice and style into compelling selling copy that helps drive sales conversion on our site, utilizing SEO terms as appropriate • Maintain live product pages, make adjustments and corrections quickly and efficiently You own this if you have… • Minimum of 2 years of published sales-writing experience • Bachelor of Arts in English or related area of expertise • Strong demonstrated command of the English language, including spelling, grammar and punctuation • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style • Solid organizational skills, ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple priorities at once • Strong personal initiative and flexibility • Basic Internet literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required • Experience in retail and/or fashion industry a plus • * This is a flexible schedule and on-call, as needed position and not full-time.
