About the position

The Human Resources Intern position at Kuraray America, Inc. offers students a paid opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the chemical industry. This 13-week internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience through a blend of major projects and daily tasks, under the guidance of knowledgeable mentors. Interns will engage in various HR functions, including recruiting support, data reporting, general HR support, learning and development, and compensation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting for the 2025 recruiting strategy.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork, background checks, and orientation activities.
  • Prepare and maintain HR-related reports, including employee demographics, turnover, and time and attendance data.
  • Assist in data analysis to identify trends and provide insights for HR decision-making.
  • Create and update HR dashboards and presentations for management.
  • Support the HR team in preparing reports for compliance, audits, and other HR-related needs.
  • Assist with general HR administrative tasks such as filing, document management, and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, providing research and administrative support.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on various HR-related tasks and projects as needed.
  • Assist with policy review, updates, and research.
  • Assist with creating/developing/implementing training for managers.
  • Assist with creating development plans for employees.
  • Create SOPs for benefits and analyze training plans for benefits.
  • Support the Understanding Pay project and assist the Compensation Specialist as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Completed two years of college education before beginning internship (3rd or 4th year student).
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Human Resources, Business or similar degree.
  • Strong academic performance with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and extracurricular achievement.
  • Experience with Excel and/or PowerBI.
  • Demonstrated communication, writing, and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.
  • Must have legal U.S. working authorization to participate in the program.
  • Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
