We are searching for the best talent to fill an experienced Staff Software Product Owner, Robotics role. Our Surgical Robotics office is based in Santa Clara, CA. This position can be fully on-site or hybrid (minimum 3 days on site), however, no relocation will be provided.

Position Overview

We are looking for someone to join a team that is working to solve some of the hardest problems in medicine today. The position requires demonstrated ability as a software developer using C++ within a Linux environment. The successful candidate will have the capacity to work closely with engineers from software, hardware, systems, quality, regulatory, and other subject areas. This person should be self-motivated, curious, and have the desire to bring the latest software technologies into the medical world. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong collaboration, leadership, and influence skills to be successful. The ability to build relationships and be a driver of execution is critical to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with multi-discipline partners and engineering leaders to understand business value, market context, and customer problems.
  • Plan new Bronchoscopy software releases. Document software requirements, groom epics, and guide the software team in writing stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support the software lifecycle following processes defined by our Quality Management System
  • Develop deep product knowledge and share with the team to ensure requirements are understood and customer value is delivered.
  • Develop and maintain a product backlog with appropriately sized epics and stories. Prioritize stories for each sprint.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure that stories are complete and acceptance criteria is met.
  • Support the investigation and disposition of reported issues and improvement requests.
  • Be accountable for formal software development documents like the software development plan, software release notes, software maintenance plan, etc.
  • Help improve Agile software development practices.

Required Education:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience working in all aspects of software development from concept and requirements through development, testing, traceability, release, and maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile methodologies
  • 5+ years of experience as a software product owner or technical program/project manager
  • Experience writing software requirements and user stories, and prioritizing stories based on customer and business needs.
  • Experience working with design controls in a regulated environment
  • Experience working with competing priorities from multiple teams
  • Experience with Jira and software branching.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Strong project and time management skills

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with 21 CFR 820, IEC 62304, and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools and build systems.
  • Familiar with medical imaging, computer vision, and robotic controls.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestic US and internationally, with overnight stay.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
