<p>This is a remote position.</p> <p><b>Software Engineering (PID0638)</b> Infrastructure / ICE Platform Team<br></p> <ul> <li>Contract / Freelance<br></li> <li>Full-time<br></li> <li>Remote with travel readiness required (Germany)<br></li> <li>Start: 01/07/2026<br></li> </ul> <p><b>About the role</b><br></p> <p>We are seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure Product Line of a large internal platform programme in the energy sector. Working within the ICE (Infrastructure Cloud Engine) team, you will implement component architecture, drive software development efforts and provide technical leadership within a cloud-native, hybrid platform environment.<br></p> <p><b>What you'll be doing</b><br></p> <ul> <li>Writing production-grade Python code to implement architectural design specifications, including unit tests and code documentation<br></li> <li>Making and communicating technical decisions within boundaries set by the architecture design<br></li> <li>Generating and communicating status reports to architects and delivery stakeholders<br></li> <li>Facilitating meetings and presenting technical concepts to mid-sized audiences<br></li> <li>Providing guidance to other development stakeholders and ensuring on-time delivery of features and software components<br></li> <li>Participating in agile ceremonies and promoting agile ways of working<br></li> <li>Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities within the development process<br></li> <li>Coordinating with portfolio and platform stakeholders across network, compute, storage and hardware<br></li> </ul> <br> <br> <h3>Requirements</h3> <p><b>What you'll need</b><br></p> <ul> <li>8+ years of professional software development experience using high-level programming languages<br></li> <li>Advanced Python (3.9+) proficiency including strong command of async programming (asyncio, aiohttp), multiprocessing and concurrency models<br></li> <li>Extensive experience with FastAPI for building scalable APIs and services<br></li> <li>Expertise in modular software design with an emphasis on separation of concerns and maintainable codebases<br></li> <li>Strong grasp of type hinting, dependency injection and automated testing frameworks (pytest, unittest)<br></li> <li>Experience across multiple database paradigms: relational (PostgreSQL), NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, ArangoDB/Neo4J) and database libraries such as SQLAlchemy<br></li> <li>Deep understanding of microservice design principles including service boundaries, inter-service communication (REST, gRPC, message queues) and API design<br></li> <li>Solid understanding of application and API security principles including OAuth2 and OIDC<br></li> <li>Fluent English, spoken and written (C1 minimum)<br></li> </ul> <p><b>Desirable</b><br></p> <ul> <li>Experience designing schema and data models per service and managing data consistency and performance in microservice environments<br></li> <li>Hands-on experience containerising services<br></li> </ul> <br> <br> <h3>Benefits</h3> <p>Als Freiberufler / Auftragnehmer bei uns genießen Sie flexible Arbeitszeiten und die Freiheit, Ihre eigenen Projekte zu wählen.
