About the position

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Mine and analyze data to drive optimization and improvement of sales process, marketing techniques, customer retention, product development, and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
  • Use predictive modeling and machine-learning algorithms to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges, coordinate with different functional teams to implement findings and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop automated processes to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Communicate results and insights, both verbally and written (including visual graphics), in a clear and concise manner to a non-technical audience.
  • Assist with data governance to maintain data quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on ideal customer profile and customer retention.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams; Analytical mind and strong business acumen.
  • Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional team to drive changes in various business areas.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, Scikit-Learn, and well-known machine learning frameworks and techniques) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets, and using web services: AWS Redshift, S3, etc.
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, natural language processing, decision trees, neural networks, etc. and knowledge of their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, A/B testing, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
