**Children’s Book Illustrator and Designer Needed to Complete Existing Storyboard**

## Job Description

I am looking for an experienced children’s book illustrator and book designer to complete an existing picture book titled **Georgia Anne the Beautiful Giraffe**.

The story, page order, rough illustrations, and detailed revision notes have already been developed. I need someone who can take the current storyboard and turn it into a polished, professional, publication-ready children’s book while keeping the original story and overall concept intact.

The book follows Georgia Anne, a young giraffe who begins to doubt her beauty after being teased and criticized by other animals. Through encouragement from a wise elephant, she learns the importance of self-love, positive thinking, and surrounding herself with supportive people. The book also includes discussion questions and a glossary for young readers.

### Scope of Work

The selected freelancer will be responsible for:

* Redrawing and professionally finishing the existing illustrations.

* Maintaining a consistent appearance for Georgia Anne and all recurring characters.

* Following the detailed revision notes included in the storyboard.

* Creating appropriate African jungle backgrounds throughout the book.

* Correcting or replacing animals and objects as identified in the notes.

* Showing the correct emotions, including sadness, anger, fear, and tears of joy.

* Adding important details such as mirrors, African violets, and the elephants’ small triangle necklaces.

* Correcting text placement, capitalization, punctuation, and page layout.

* Making glossary words bold within the story.

* Formatting the discussion questions and glossary pages.

* Updating the author biography to state that Heather is the **Director of Family Support Services at Parenting Matters and Educational Services, LLC**.

* Listing the author as **Written by Heather A. Bennett**.

* Not adding an illustrator’s name or credit to the book unless it is approved in writing before completion.

* Preparing the complete book for printing and digital publication.

### Final Deliverables

I will need:

* A complete, professionally illustrated and formatted children’s book.

* A high-resolution, print-ready PDF.

* A digital PDF suitable for electronic distribution.

* Editable source files from the program used to create the book.

* Individual high-resolution illustration files.

* Proper bleed, margins, and image resolution for commercial printing.

* A completed front cover, back cover, title page, copyright page, story pages, discussion questions, glossary, and author biography.

The final trim size and printing platform will be confirmed before final formatting.

### Preferred Qualifications

The ideal freelancer should have:

* Experience illustrating children’s picture books.

* Experience with children’s book page layout and print preparation.

* The ability to follow a detailed storyboard and revision notes.

* A warm, expressive, and child-friendly illustration style.

* Strong attention to character consistency and emotional expression.

* Good communication and the ability to provide progress updates.

* Experience preparing books for Amazon KDP or another professional printing platform is preferred.

All artwork must be original. Please disclose whether artificial intelligence tools will be used during any part of the illustration or design process. The final agreement must include commercial usage rights and ownership of the completed files.

When Applying

Please include:

1. Examples of children’s books or similar illustrations you have completed.

2. Your estimated timeline for completing the entire book.

3. Your proposed fixed price.

4. The number of revisions included.

5. The design software you will use.

6. Whether any artificial intelligence tools will be used.

7. Confirmation that you can provide editable source files and commercial rights.
