We offer more than 20 specialties and 100 convenient locations; with some clinics offering extended hours.</p> <h2>Job Summary and Responsibilities</h2> <p>As our Financial Counselor, you will play a critical role in realizing CommonSpirit Health's mission by assisting patients with the financial aspects of their healthcare journey. This position is responsible for ensuring patients understand their insurance benefits and available financial options, helping them navigate often complex payment responsibilities. You'll work collaboratively with clinic staff and other facilities to ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-centered financial services.</p> <p> </p> <p>Every day you will perform comprehensive financial counseling, including discussing health insurance benefits, billing practices, pre-collections, and setting up payment arrangements. You'll identify potential financial resources like Medicaid, Marketplace plans, COBRA, and financial assistance programs. This includes obtaining pre-authorizations, communicating approvals/denials to clinical staff, providing cost estimates, and assisting patients with charity care or financial assistance applications, ensuring they understand all available financial pathways before treatment begins.</p> <p> </p> <p>To be successful in this patient financial services role, you will need a strong working knowledge of clinical office procedures, medical terminology, and basic understanding of federal/state regulations related to healthcare. Experience in healthcare revenue cycle functions, including insurance or registration experience, and/or healthcare collections/customer service, is preferred. Exceptional communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, self-motivation, and computer proficiency are essential to provide compassionate and accurate financial guidance to our patients within our faith-based healthcare system.</p> <h2>Job Requirements</h2> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate / General Studies </li> </ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Experience in health care revenue cycle functions to include insurance or registration preferred., upon hire and</li> <li>Experience in healthcare collections, registration or customer service preferred., upon hire</li> </ul>
