The company pursues large-scale commercial and public works projects with a reputation for quality workmanship and professional operations.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>Job Description</strong></h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team as a dedicated, full-time estimator working within our client's existing systems and workflows. The ideal candidate will own the full bid lifecycle — from plan review and quantity takeoff through bid submission and post-award coordination. This is a critical role where accuracy directly impacts profitability; errors in estimating can result in significant financial losses on a single project. You will be working directly with the owner and will play a key role in the company's ability to pursue and win more work.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2><ol style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from architect-provided plans using Bluebeam — including area measurements, linear items, excavation volumes, and site elements</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Review project specifications, plans, and bid requirements thoroughly to identify missing information and flag questions before bid submission</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Manage the full bid solicitation and submission process — from coordinating supplier pricing to preparing and submitting complete, accurate bids across multiple platforms (Procore, Building Connected, Construct, SmartBid)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Track active bid invitations, manage the estimating pipeline, and maintain organized bid documentation</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Develop detailed cost estimates for concrete and excavation scopes of work</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Support post-award workflows including subcontractor coordination, submittals packages, and ongoing communication with subs and suppliers on scope and scheduling</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborate with field staff and ownership on project feasibility and constructability review</p></li></ol><h2><strong>Requirements</strong></h2><ol style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">3+ years of estimating experience in concrete, excavation, light civil construction, or a closely related trade, with demonstrated experience on commercial and public works projects ($250K-$2M+) for U.S. clients</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Expert proficiency with Bluebeam software, including takeoff tools and annotation capabilities</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and civil plans with a high degree of accuracy</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">End-to-end bid process experience — from takeoff and supplier pricing coordination through formal submission, plus familiarity with post-award workflows (subcontractor coordination, submittals, scope management)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal) at a professional level</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Prior experience working remotely for a U.S.-based contractor is strongly preferred</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with U.S. construction practices and business culture</p></li></ol><h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h2><ol style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Civil engineering degree or equivalent technical background</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">5+ years of estimating experience</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with public works bidding platforms and processes</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Knowledge of construction cost databases and pricing resources</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Spanish language skills</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with Procore or other construction management software</p></li></ol>
